In a marriage where both are vested in the relationship and have set a foundation of trust, traveling apart can be restorative. While I prefer to travel in twos, sometimes, I need to get away. Not necessarily from my spouse, but from the everyday treadmill. My husband's schedule doesn't always coincide with mine. I go and return with a fresh outlook and a renewed strength to invest in him and me and us. He does the same and returns a happier man, ready to engage.
